After offering it’s fans to discover great bands performing Blues in French, Canadian Blues, American Blues as well as Asian Blues, Viree Blues Boreale is now offering you to get on a superb voyage as well as a cultural discovery: the Argentinian Blues by The Martin Hury Blues Combo.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Martin Hury first picked up the guitar at 15 and gravitated immediately to the Blues. As the years passed, he began incorporating jazz and rockabilly into his playing, thus creating his very own and unique style. Martin Hury was also influenced by some great Blues and Rock stars, such as Freddie King, Albert King, Brian Setzer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, Ronnie Earl and Duke Robillard – to name only those. Martin Hury’s music sometimes comes out as a voice in English while often in Spanish, always with legendary American Blues Chords.
Well known for his solid command of the guitar and for his strong stage presence, Martin began playing with various Blues bands among which Argentinian Blues band Los Sidetrackers (2006-2010) and in Quebec, with Mr. Boogie Woogie, Pat Loiselle and with The Kevin Mark Blues Band. He now stands out as composer and performer and has naturally become front man and soloist with his own band, The Martin Hury Blues Combo.
He played at various festivals like the Edmundston Jazz and Blues Festival, the Beauport en Blues Festival, Quebec Summer Festival, Carleton-sur-Mer Maximum Blues Festival with his band, The Martin Hury Blues Combo. Now living in Montreal, he just finished recording his new CD, CRUDO, with a seasoned rhythmic section; that is Sidney Arruda on bass and David Larocque on drums. The Martin Hury Blues Combo delivers his own straightforward Blues even if influenced by Blues legends.
